Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Kharkiv region has become one of the main directions of Russian aggression. Shelling, destruction, hostilities, occupation of parts of the territories and constant danger have created extraordinary challenges for all life support systems in the region.
Despite this, the emergency medical care system of the Kharkiv region has maintained its continuity and manageability. Brigades continued to work during massive missile strikes, in border and frontline communities, in deoccupied territories and in places of liquidation of the consequences of enemy attacks. Every day, doctors ensured the availability of emergency care for hundreds of thousands of residents of the region.
The essence of the phenomenon lies in the ability of the entire system to work without stopping when circumstances could lead to its destruction. Thanks to the professionalism of employees, effective organization of work and dedication to their work, the emergency medical care system has become one of the foundations of the viability of the Kharkiv region.
This phenomenon is a manifestation of the Greatness of Ukraine, as it demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian professional communities to ensure the functioning of critical services even during war. The continuity of emergency medical care has become a symbol of the stability of the state, responsibility to the people, and the indomitability of Ukrainian society.
The continuity of emergency medical care directly ensures the preservation of life and health of the population. It is the EMD system that is the first link in medical care for injuries, heart attacks, strokes, emergencies and mass casualties as a result of war.
KNP KOR "Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine" provides a 24-hour response to calls, the provision of emergency care, medical triage of victims and their evacuation to health care facilities. In wartime, it is the stability of this system that allows maintaining the availability of medical care for the population even in the most dangerous areas of the Kharkiv region.
The Center's staff ensures the continuous functioning of the emergency medical care system in one of the most affected regions of Ukraine, responds to emergency calls around the clock, works at the scene of strikes, carries out medical evacuations and provides assistance to the population of frontline, border and de-occupied communities. Professionalism, coordination of actions, endurance and dedication have allowed us to maintain the availability of EMD for the population even in the most difficult conditions of war.
