The Greatness of Ukraine
Greatness in deeds - Glory in consequences
In the year of its 10th anniversary, the Order of Saint Panteleimon, the Award for Professionalism and Charity, is launching a special nomination — “THE GREATNESS OF UKRAINE”.
Ukraine has amazed the world with its resilience.
But this resilience is not a coincidence. It is the result of thousands of actions that have merged into a single phenomenon.
We must honor these phenomena, which have become the face of the Greatness of our country.
This is a super-competitive nomination. It goes beyond the usual professional competitions. Its goal is not simply to select the best among equals, but to form a chronicle of phenomena and events that, in times of the most difficult trials, became the embodiment of the strength of our people.
To become a laureate on this list is to receive the highest status of public recognition, which records the contribution to the modern history of Ukraine. Since our Award was born in the medical field, we suggest looking at this greatness through the prism of preserving human life and health as the highest value of society.
Five Spheres of Manifestation of Greatness
The ability of communities, institutions, and professional environments to keep life going where systems would otherwise fail is a phenomenon of collective responsibility that saves cities.
Collectives, medical networks, communities, and teams that ensured continuity of care and health support in the extreme conditions of war.
The affirmation of a paradigm where human life is an unconditional value. It is about people who have made a moral choice in favor of another, without expecting a reward.
Individuals or rescue missions (doctors, volunteers, rescuers) whose actions have become an example of the highest humanity and self-sacrifice.
The formation of a unique Ukrainian approach to saving lives. These are new standards of evacuation and treatment that have become a global ethical imperative.
Authors of decisions, units or organizations that have implemented new, effective models of saving lives in combat conditions.
Phenomena that did not allow society to lose its inner core. This is meaning-making as a condition for the survival of a nation.
Cultural, chaplaincy, and spiritual initiatives that strengthened the mental resilience and spiritual integrity of the people.
Fixing the civilizational shift: Ukraine is no longer an object of aid, it is a leader dictating new humanitarian and ethical standards to the world.
Citizens, foundations, diplomatic missions, and forms of popular advocacy that have opened up resources for life to Ukraine and the world.
