The full-scale war has posed unprecedented challenges to Ukraine, when saving human life requires courage, professionalism and a willingness to sacrifice every day. One of the most striking manifestations of this phenomenon is the activities of Oleksandr Vasilyevich Volobuyev, the long-time head of the Kharkiv garrison of the State Emergency Service, who has devoted more than 49 years of his life to serving people.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he has personally been at the sites of the most dangerous emergencies, coordinated the work of rescuers and directly performed emergency and rescue operations in conditions of constant threat to life. More than 200 times, Oleksandr Volobuyev participated in the elimination of the consequences of Russian shelling, rescuing people, extinguishing fires, clearing rubble and evacuating the civilian population.
A special manifestation of sacrificial service was his actions during the elimination of the consequences of an enemy attack on a kindergarten in Kharkiv. Realizing the danger of structural collapse, fire, and possible repeated shelling, he personally entered the shelter where the children and employees of the institution were. Taking the children in his arms and evacuating them to a safe place, Oleksandr Volobuyev, together with rescuers, saved 48 children.
His act became an example of personal courage, the embodiment of the Ukrainian tradition of serving people, when human life is the highest value, and duty to society outweighs one's own safety. It is such dedication to the cause that is a manifestation of the Greatness of Ukraine.
The sacrificial service of Alexander Volobuyev is directly related to the preservation of life and health of people. His professional activities are aimed at promptly responding to emergencies, evacuating victims, unblocking people from rubble and creating conditions for timely medical care. Thanks to his decisive actions during the liquidation of the consequences of Russian shelling, hundreds of people were saved. The rescue of 48 children from a damaged kindergarten became an example of preventing human casualties and serious consequences for the physical and mental health of children.
Thanks, in particular, to the own example of the leaders, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region works as a single, inseparable living organism. There is no division into “big management” and “little people” here - from an ordinary firefighter, a driver and a young university graduate to a general, everyone is part of one team. This service is based on the principle: leaders do not sit around in offices, and ordinary fighters know that behind their backs is a reliable support.
Oleksandr Volobuev himself is one of the most authoritative representatives of the rescue service of the Kharkiv region. For almost half a century, his professional path has been inextricably linked with protecting people from emergencies. He has gone through all levels of service - from a firefighter and a guard chief to the head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. Under his leadership, professional standards for the work of rescuers were formed, the personnel potential of the service was strengthened and one of the most powerful rescue garrisons of Ukraine was developed. State awards, including a full set of Orders "For Courage", are a recognition of his many years of dedication, professionalism, and impeccable reputation.
