Even before the full-scale invasion, in February 2022, the Bishop publicly appealed to the international community to hear the "SOS from Ukraine" and not remain indifferent to Russian aggression. After the war began, he continued an active international information campaign in support of Ukraine.

Protecting the Ukrainian identity of refugees

One of his key areas was supporting the Ukrainian language, culture and national identity among Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homeland. He repeatedly emphasized that preserving their culture helps Ukrainians integrate without losing their own roots.

Working with youth and international church structures

Vladimir represented the voice of Ukraine at international Catholic events, including World Youth Day in Lisbon, where he spoke about the suffering of the Ukrainian people, the testimony of faith and hope in the face of war.

Promoting the integration of Ukrainians in Germany

In cooperation with the German Bishops' Conference, he supported programs for the integration of Ukrainian refugees, access to work, education and social adaptation.

Bishop Bohdan Dzyurakh is the face of the spiritual, humanitarian and social resilience of Ukrainians during the war.
